A.P.E Egypt
APE, a non-governmental organization founded in 1984, aims to turn Zabbaleen work into a thriving business. With a nine-member board of trustees, over 50 employees and numerous volunteers, APE is committed to emphasizing the importance of recycling as an important industry while promoting development and environmental protection. One of their initiatives includes building a center for the production of patchwork and recycled paper products, collecting rags from textile factories and teaching various craft skills to more than 250 young women.

Pottery
Evelyne Porret's pottery school in Tunis has not only contributed significantly to the development of pottery culture in the village, but has also had a significant impact on the autonomy of many young women in the disadvantaged region. By learning pottery techniques and selling their art, these women were able to not only improve their craft skills but also generate their own income. CairoCollab is committed to sourcing these artistic creations directly from the potters in El Fayoum, without the use of intermediaries.
